- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- Make the shortbread crust by combining flour, powdered sugar, and cubed butter in a bowl; mix until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In a bowl, toss sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Spread evenly over the crust.
- In a separate bowl, mix oats with a little flour and brown sugar, then sprinkle over the apples for a crunchy topping.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbling. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
