- 1 loaf of Italian bread
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Using a sharp knife, cut the bread loaf into a grid pattern without slicing all the way through to the bottom.
- Mix melted butter, minced garlic, oregano, basil, and chopped parsley in a bowl.
- Carefully stuff the cheese between the cuts of the bread.
- Brush the bread with the garlic butter mixture, ensuring some gets into the cuts.
- Wrap the bread loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with additional parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle red pepper flakes or add cooked bacon bits inside.
- Use fresh herbs for a more aromatic taste.
