Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add sugar and salt, stirring until combined and boiling.
  4. Cook without stirring for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  6. Pour the hot caramel mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the caramel.
  8. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
