- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or almonds)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add sugar and salt, stirring until combined and boiling.
- Cook without stirring for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour the hot caramel mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over the caramel.
- Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature. For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before cooling.
