Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne or spaghetti)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes to develop flavor.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Return cooked pasta to the pot. Toss to coat evenly with sauce. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute heavy cream with coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
- For extra protein, add cooked chicken or shrimp.
- Adjust the cream and cheese amounts for a richer or lighter sauce.
