Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2-3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  2. Add egg and cold water gradually, knead into a smooth dough. Wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll out dough thinly and cut into squares or circles.
  4. Wrap dough around cannoli tubes and bake at 375°F for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool and remove tubes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Fill cooled shells with ricotta mixture using a pastry bag or spoon.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and serve garnished with extra chocolate chips if desired.
