- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh thyme sprigs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized and golden brown, about 25 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Spread caramelized onions evenly over the pizza crust.
- Sprinkle grated Gruyere and shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Slice and serve warm, garnished with additional thyme if desired.
