- 4 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Fuji]
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
- Roll out one pie crust and fit into a pie dish.
- Pour apple filling into crust, then cover with the second crust.
- Seal edges and cut vents on top.
- Brush with beaten egg for a shiny crust.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before serving to allow filling to set. Serve with vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
