A traditional apple pie made with fresh apples, cinnamon, sugar, and a buttery flaky crust, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Fuji]
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 package of refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and fit into a pie dish.
  4. Pour apple filling into crust, then cover with the second crust.
  5. Seal edges and cut vents on top.
  6. Brush with beaten egg for a shiny crust.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before serving to allow filling to set. Serve with vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
