Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (or shredded beef for variation)
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for a gluten-free option
- 1 tbsp sesame oil or neutral cooking oil
- 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (optional)
- Red pepper flakes or black pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and prep the garlic, ginger, and broccoli; rinse broccoli florets and set aside.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add sesame or cooking oil. Cook ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar; stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add broccoli florets, cover, and cook for 4-5 minutes until tender yet crisp. Adjust cooking time for softer broccoli.
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, and serve hot over rice or quinoa.
Notes
- Marinate the ground beef with soy sauce and garlic beforehand for extra flavor.
- Use fresh broccoli for best texture; frozen is also suitable.
