  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by peeling and slicing the large russet potatoes into thin, even layers. Set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sliced smoked sausage until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, mix ranch seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the seasoning blend.
  4. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, milk, melted butter, and the ranch seasoning mixture. Add sliced potatoes and cooked sausage; toss to coat evenly.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Spread shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes

  • For a low-carb version, substitute potatoes with cauliflower florets.
  • You can add chopped green onions or bacon bits for extra flavor.
  • Use full-fat cheese and sour cream for the richest taste.
