Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by peeling and slicing the large russet potatoes into thin, even layers. Set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook sliced smoked sausage until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a small bowl, mix ranch seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the seasoning blend.
- In a large bowl, combine sour cream, milk, melted butter, and the ranch seasoning mixture. Add sliced potatoes and cooked sausage; toss to coat evenly.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Spread shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 35-40 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For a low-carb version, substitute potatoes with cauliflower florets.
- You can add chopped green onions or bacon bits for extra flavor.
- Use full-fat cheese and sour cream for the richest taste.
