A savory and satisfying dish featuring tender Salisbury steak meatballs in rich gravy served with flavorful garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • For the meatballs: 1 pound ground beef, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan, 1 egg, 2 cloves garlic minced, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, salt and pepper to taste, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 cup beef broth, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • For the mashed potatoes: 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced, 3 cloves garlic minced, 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup milk, salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown meatballs on all sides, then transfer to a baking dish.
  4. Bake meatballs for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, simmer beef broth with Worcestershire sauce in the skillet used for browning to make gravy.
  5. Prepare mashed potatoes: boil potatoes until tender, drain, then mash with garlic, butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir in chopped parsley.
  6. Serve meatballs with gravy poured over and alongside the garlic herb mashed potatoes.
