  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles, extra cheese, chopped onions
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or cilantro)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, and half of the grated cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Form the mixture into 12 meatballs, about one inch each.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Cook the meatballs until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Alternatively, air fry at 375°F for 10 minutes.
  4. Add bourbon BBQ sauce to the skillet with meatballs and simmer on low for 5 minutes.
  5. Toast hamburger buns until lightly golden. Prepare your toppings like crispy bacon, sliced pickles, and extra cheese.
  6. Place 3-4 meatballs on each bun, spoon sauce over them, and add toppings. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken.
  • You can prepare in advance and reheat for quick meals.
  • Use gluten-free buns and breadcrumbs if needed.
