Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: sliced pickles, extra cheese, chopped onions
- Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or cilantro)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, and half of the grated cheese. Mix thoroughly.
- Form the mixture into 12 meatballs, about one inch each.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Cook the meatballs until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Alternatively, air fry at 375°F for 10 minutes.
- Add bourbon BBQ sauce to the skillet with meatballs and simmer on low for 5 minutes.
- Toast hamburger buns until lightly golden. Prepare your toppings like crispy bacon, sliced pickles, and extra cheese.
- Place 3-4 meatballs on each bun, spoon sauce over them, and add toppings. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken.
- You can prepare in advance and reheat for quick meals.
- Use gluten-free buns and breadcrumbs if needed.
